Lady Gaga - Hair (Last chorus Acapella)

This is about my emotional connection to lady gaga plus opinions so if you aren’t interested then don’t proceed.

Skip this paragraph because it’s just a prologue it has nothing to do with what I wanted to say. Long story long, because I live to rant, before the Born This Way album was released Lady Gaga released two singles: BTW and Judas. BTW because it was her will to make a movement and give back to fans. Judas because people ask for the second Bad Romance, I think. Or maybe because of Luc. This is a decision made beforehand and no matter what, these two would get released. After Judas, what to be released would be decided later according to whatever the hell context there is such as popularity or her own wish. And then there are two promotional singles. The first one was The Edge of Glory. TEoG was a surprise hit that they hurried to make it a single, which after being released twice it still sells. Then she released another promotional single, Hair. Hair didn’t do as well as TEoG for some reason. Maybe people were being fixated on TEoG. But it’s a fact that although it didn’t smash-hit after release, it’s still doing pretty impressive in sales and Youtube views. Many people have different opinions about hair, too pop, too childish, cute, fun, but at the end of the day I don’t know about you but to me, Hair is one top-tier strongest weapon left in this album. Speaking commercially, if one thing that made her label allow her to release Marry The Night was the youtube view count of the audio (13 million), Hair is a very realistic choice since it comes right in the second place (10 million) while other songs sat in around averagely 5 mil.

So, what I wanted to say is not really related to above. The reason why I’m wishing really hard that Hair would become a single and publicized, because there are people who need to hear it. It literally will save lives. It will. It even had saved lives before. Otherwise, it had been the one of last songs a kid, or two, or more, listened to before they committed suicide. It can get you through shit. I didn’t have an identity problem, or maybe I do just it’s not serious, but somehow this song helped me feel safe and even saved. You’ll know that there’s somebody fighting for you, and even if you don’t particularly want that you’ll be reassured you can fight it yourself. It’s full of heavy emotional impact for people in both vulnerable and strong state. Aside from the chart-topping potential, which, although superficial and I couldn’t careless, is actually crucial for her career and the life span of BTW era, it is a very meaningful song to say the least. To me, Hair is like the introvert side of Born This Way (the song.) BTW was written to basically be somewhat an anthem, where you can quote any line in the song and sing it to anyone, but Hair could be your personal encouragement song of which chorus roars up in your mind when you’ve had enough. So listen beyond the “red highlights” and “high school dance,” and you’ll hear the core manifesto. Just one verse, I don’t wanna change and I don’t wanna be ashamed. I’m the spirit of my hair, it’s all the glory that I bare, take it to your heart and you can take on the world. You are all you have, so don’t be ashamed to treasure it. It reminds you nobody can make you anything else other than who you are without your consent. There’s no reason to let negativity get to you when you’re the one on the side of the truth. Anyone who feel belittled for being who they are can relate to it whether they’d like to admit it or not. And this is a fight we can take pride in. It’s one thing in another level of this mess of community of wrecked-up friends that brings us together. Not the arguments about which song should slay the chart, or which music video would win an award, but the united willpower to get her raw message to the world as much as possible. Because we all love, and we all fight the same.

Hair on Youtube

I’m setting the deal with Hair here this once and hopefully I’ll never whine about it again.
